Didn't we have a lovely time the day we went to Devon! Not long after setting off from Portsmouth the snow fell…and fell….and then fell some more! The roads were treacherous and the snowflakes were as 'big as your head' and the doubt starting to creep in as to whether we would get there but lots of noise coming from the back seat of Pam, Mich & Julie spurred the car of 5 onwards. Following some great driving by Jila, the team managed to start pushing ahead of the time to destination given by Navman although some time was lost when Toni suggested that they stop for a 'bacon butty' break but this didn't damper spirits, in fact there was a new surge of energy coming from within the car and we arrived at the sportshall with an hour to spare and so had a nice wander through the local village store. On meeting up with Stuart & Blanka, who had stayed over the previous night, we discovered that our attempts to wake them up early by texting had been thwarted by them leaving their phones in the car (they had obviously studied our previous tactics) They had also managed to have the full monty breakfast much to our dismay. So, after all that adventure we couldn't play anyway as the sportshall had been doublebooked so won by default 3 0.
