June 09, 2008Ladies Division 2 - Weymouth Tournament - June'08
This turned out to be a great weekend away!

Weymouth Tournament is a 2 days tournament with entries from Ladies team playing Div 1, Div 2 or Div 3 volleyball. Attendance this year was very good and with 2 teams from Div.1 and many teams from Div. 2, the standard was to be high.

South Hants girls performed really well through out the tournament and played some of the best volleyball they can play.

On the first day, after 5 matches, they came unbeaten, even beating Polonia Div.1 team.

On the second day South Hants won their first 2 matches and made it to the semifinals unbeaten. Unfortunately ,somehow ( and I would questioned this with the organisers) in the semifinal South Hants met Polonia again and after good game they lost to them 2:1. Polonia went off to the final and beat West Sussex, so South Hants girls were actually the only team in the whole tournament to beat the winners of the tournament - Polonia team. Later we found out that Polonia had 4 paid players from Poland playing for them, so I think that we did very well girls!!!

Already looking forward to the next one ;o)
